All Saints’ Church Hampton
Hello, and a warm welcome to the website of All Saints’ Hampton, the local Church of England parish church for the northern part of Hampton. Our church building is located on The Avenue, and we meet there on Sundays and throughout the week. Our church is fully wheelchair accessible and there are disabled-access toilets in our church hall. We believe that God loves and welcomes all people and so we seek to reflect the love of God by extending a very warm welcome to everyone.
We celebrate the Christian faith as revealed in the Bible and through the teaching, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We meet together week by week in order to worship God and we try to show God’s love in practical ways, by serving our local community and the wider world.
Our pattern of worship normally includes the Eucharist or Holy Communion at the heart of the service. In our preaching, which is usually based on the set Bible readings for the day, we try always to be relevant and topical as we apply our faith to everyday life. There are three services on a Sunday: at 8.00 am we have a shorter service of Holy Communion, using traditional language, without hymns or music, but with a sermon. Our main service at 10.00 am is a sung service of Holy Communion, using contemporary language.
We are a growing community, welcoming families and children and adults of all ages. There is a small play area with books, toys and comfy chairs at the back of church and parents are welcome to take very young children there if they find that helpful. Most Sundays, the school-age children leave early on during the service for their own Sunday School activities in the church hall. However, for our first-Sunday-of-the-month Family Service, the children remain in church throughout the service.
Our 10.00 am Holy Communion service is always followed by a time of fellowship over refreshments in the church hall and on the first Sunday of the month, breakfast is served in the church hall after both services.
Sundays at All Saints’ end at 5.00 pm with a said service of Evening Prayer. This is always followed by refreshments in the church porch.
We hope very much that you will join us for one of our services and we look forward to welcoming you to All Saints’ in the near future.
